UAE declares AI a matter of national sovereignty
UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri announced that artificial intelligence now ranks alongside defence and cybersecurity in national budget priorities. AI contributes to the UAE’s non-oil economy, now 77.3% of GDP, and is being integrated across digital infrastructure, law, and education. The UAE aims to become a global R&D hub powered by renewable energy and world-class talent.
