YouTube Adds AI Video Creation with Veo 3
YouTube is now offering a simplified version of Google’s Veo 3 AI video tool inside its Shorts app. With this feature, creators can turn basic text prompts into 8-second vertical videos—no editing skills required.
This new tool is free and currently rolling out to users in the US, UK, Canada, and other selected countries. AI-generated videos will be labeled clearly, but there’s no way to filter them from your Shorts feed.
Veo 3 first made waves earlier this year for its ability to create synced video, audio, and motion. Now this powerful tech is in the hands of everyday users—including Gulf-based creators, educators, and small businesses.
What You Can Do
- Create 8-second videos from a text prompt
- Add motion, objects, and effects
- Style videos in pastel, sketch, origami, or cinematic looks
- Convert spoken lines into songs or stylized voiceovers
Eli Collins, VP of Product at Google DeepMind, said:
People’s imaginations on the internet are pretty unlimited.
