UAE’s AI Ambitions: Building the Next Era of Growth
The UAE has built one of the most diversified economies in the region, with non-oil sectors making up more than 75 percent of GDP. Its next step is bold: turning artificial intelligence into a structural driver of growth.
The National Strategy for AI 2031 targets transport, healthcare, energy, and space. Partnerships are key. Microsoft invested $1.5 billion in Abu Dhabi’s G42, while the new UAE-US AI Campus will host Stargate UAE, the largest AI data center outside the US, powered by renewable energy.
Projects are already underway in healthcare, finance, and logistics. AI is no longer a test for the UAE, but a foundation for Vision 2030 and beyond.
A study by Cooper Fitch shows that companies in the GCC are adapting to AI without mass layoffs. Instead, 55 percent of firms are merging roles or restructuring responsibilities. Only 7 percent report actual job losses, mostly in junior or administrative functions.
Tasks like data entry and report writing are being automated, while humans are being redirected to higher-value work. Employees are optimistic but cautious, noting a gap between employer expectations and the current maturity of AI tools.

Muneer Al Wafaa, CEO of Alwafaa Group, has launched Daidu.ai, a platform designed to make AI adoption simple for businesses, professionals, and individuals worldwide.
The platform has four main pillars:
